Katherine Ryan Young Obituary – Katherine Anne Ryan, née Knott, – On Saturday, September 16, 2023, our devoted wife, mother, sister, and aunt passed away quietly in the company of her loved ones at Hamilton General Hospital. survived by her brother David (Hong) and husband Bill. devoted mother to Nadean (Tom), Matthew (Jen),
and Mike (Tara), as well as stepmother of Annie (Josh). Grandchildren Paisley, Mason, Vaida, and Cierra (Gaige) will always remember. The rest of Kathy’s extended family and her many friends will truly miss her. Her brother Brian, father of her children Mark Dagenais, and parents Earl and Mary Knott all passed away before her. Words cannot express what a wonderful woman Kathy was.
She was a dedicated, kind, and compassionate woman who would never think twice about lending a helping require. Kathy was never seen without a smile on her face. She was able to solve any issue and had an optimistic outlook on life. She spent more than 30 years as an employee at Kirkpatrick Monuments and was intending to retire shortly. She loved spending time with her loved ones around the bonfire, enjoying a few beers and dancing to her favorite music. She was incredibly talented, a fantastic chef, and has the greatest soul.
May her loved ones always remember her with warmth and affection. I will always love you, mom. Kathy’s wishes were followed by having her cremated. On Friday, September 22, 2023, friends and family are welcome at the J.J. Patterson & Sons Funeral Residence, 19 Young St., Welland, from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral in the Chapel at 1 p.m. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, St. John the Baptist Hungarian Greek Catholic Church, the Cancer Research Society, or the ALS Society may be sent in lieu of flowers.
