JoAnne Epps was married to L Harrison Jay, who works in Temple’s office of community relations at Temple University. He is recently suffering a lot of pain because her beloved wife JoAnne Epps passed away in September 2023.

L. Harrison Jay is best known, as the director of community partnerships. Jay has worked for Temple for 16 years on both the Health Science and Main Campuses.

Mr. JoAnne Epps otherwise known as Jay is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley and has an MBA from Stanford University.

JoAnne A. Epps was born on 28 May 1951 in Cheltenham, Pennsylvania, U.S. She served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Philadelphia, a deputy city attorney for the City of Los Angeles, and was previously executive vice president and provost of the university

She was an American law professor, legal author, and acting president of Temple University. 

JoAnne Epps, 72, holds a B.A. degree from Trinity College in 1973 in Hartford, Connecticut, and a J.D. degree in 1976 from Yale Law School.

She died on 19 September 2023 after falling ill during an event at Temple University and then she was rushed to Temple Hospital for further treatment. Her death cause is yet to be declared.

Temple University official shared a statement, “While attending a memorial service at Temple for Charles L. Blockson, curator of the Blockson Collection, President Epps became ill. She was transported to Temple University Hospital, where she was pronounced dead around 3:15 p.m.”

JoAnne once told about her mother, “My mother was a secretary, and I grew up in the era of ‘Perry Mason,’ so when I was younger my goal was to become a legal secretary, I had never even thought of going to law school until one of my undergraduate professors suggested it to me. I didn’t have any particular idea of what lawyers did but I liked being in college, so I figured I’d make it up as I went along.”
