Simmons was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on June 18, 1995. He was a devoted son, brother, and friend renowned for his warm heart and contagious grin. 

Cody enjoyed being outside; he enjoyed camping, hiking, and fishing. He also enjoyed soccer and was now learning Karate. Apart from athletic pursuits, he enjoyed Rock ‘n’ Roll music and guitar playing. Cody was often seen writing and recording his songs.

He was outgoing and enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. Cody could always be found at the latest movie release, the nearest concert, or playing video games at a friend’s House.

Cody Simons’ parents, Lyle and Diane of Rexburg; his brothers Curtis (Jennie) Simmons of Sunnyvale, California, Cortney (Gary) Garcia, Jamie (Levi) Mackintosh, and Ertis Simmons, all of Rexburg, and grandparents Melvin and Winona Bean of Sugar City survive him. His grandparents, William T. and Theola Cook Simmons, died before him.

He learned the value of hard labor early and was working two part-time jobs to save money for college and a Mormon mission. Cody is adored by his family, neighbors, and friends.

Funeral services will occur on Saturday, April 23, 2011, at 11:00 am at the Rexburg LDS East Stake Center, 387 South 4th East. The 10:00 to 10:45 am at the stake center before services.
